In 2021-2022, Romain Pilliard and a crew member embarked on the challenging Westabout Round the World voyage, sailing against prevailing winds and currents—a feat achieved by only a handful of sailors since 1895. This 30,000 nautical mile journey is the longest ocean racing challenge, 30% longer than today’s longest sailing course, the Vendée Globe. The current record stands at 122 days.
